The 2016-2017 Littleton High School shows are announced!

From Mr. Bergman:

Hi everyone –

I’m writing to share with you the information on the drama productions for this year!

The 2016 fall play will be “Midsummer / Jersey.” A comedic mashup of Shakespeare’s “Midsummer Night’s Dream” and the reality show, “Jersey Shore,” this play will give the students a fun chance to work on their Shakespeare, while poking fun at the world of reality television. JulieAnn Govang will produce / direct.

– Tryouts will be the week of September 20th.

– The show dates will be November 18 @ 7:30, November 19 @ 7:30, and November 20 @ 3pm, at the middle school.

– The show is open to all students in grades 9-12.

– Rehearsals will be Tuesday and Thursday evenings. A more complete rehearsal schedule will be online after the beginning of school.

The 2017 spring musical will be… “Bye Bye Birdie!”

LHS Drama will present the classic musical, “Bye Bye Birdie!” in the Littleton Performing Arts Center. JulieAnn Govang, director for LHS’ production of “The Mystery of Edwin Drood,” in 2015, will direct, and Mr. Bergman will music direct this super-fun show which features the songs, “Kids,” “Got a Lotta Livin’,” “The Telephone Hour,” “Put On a Happy Face,” and “Hymn for a Sunday Evening (Ed Sullivan).”

– Tryouts will be December 18 and 20 at the high school.

– The show dates will be April 7 @ 7:30, April 8 @ 7:30, and April 9 @ 3pm, at the high school.

– The show is open to all students in grades 9-12. I will only reach out to 8th graders if we don’t have enough high schoolers students to cast the show.

– A more complete rehearsal schedule will be online after beginning of school.

– Audition materials will be available in November.

– Here is an overview of the Rehearsal Schedule:

– In January – Sunday and Tuesday evenings;

– In February – Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings (no rehearsals February 19, 21, or 23);

– In March – Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursday evenings (March 2-23), plus March 26;

– Then Tech and performances.

I hope everyone has had a good summer, and is looking forward to a great school year!
